Pay Rate: $21.00- $25.00

 

Schedule: 20hrs/wk. 2 weekdays 12pm-8pm, 1 weekend day 12pm-4pm or 4pm-8pm.

Responsibilities

Levels of care at this facility include: Medical Detox, Inpatient/Residential SUD & MH Rehab, Medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and Aftercare Planning 

 

The Therapeutic Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating approved recreation programs for patients in treatment.

 

Works effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure success of the facility by completing the following:


CORE JOB DUTIES:

  • Conducts therapeutic sessions to improve patients' mental and physical well-being.
  • Observes, assesses and records patient participation and progress during recreational sessions
  • Plans, organizes, and directs recreational activities to facilitate patient recovery and well-being
  • Assists clinical team to develop a treatment plan to meet needs recreational needs of the patient.


OTHER REQUIRED TASKS:

  • Prepares and submit reports and charts to treatment team to reflect patient progress.
  • Uses information from medical records, staff and patients to assess patient capabilities and interests.
  • Counsel and encourage patients to develop leisure activities
  • Evaluate effectiveness of services provided with the assistance of the Clinical Director
  • Demonstrates sufficient comprehension of the 12 Steps, SMART Recovery and Substance Use Disorders
  • Assists the clinical team with patient interventions when needed
  • Maintains positive relationships with all staff
  • Maintains healthy boundaries with patients and staff
  • Asks for and accepts feedback from supervisors
  • Provides a safe and therapeutic environment to all staff and patients
  • Communicates significant patient developments to supervisor
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities and contribute to the success of the organization
  • Pursues professional development through participation in education and training programs
  • Contributes positively to the morale of other staff members
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Here is what we’ll need to consider:

  • Minimum high school diploma is required. Post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience.
  • Certification in Recreation Therapy preferred
  • CPR and Standard First Aid certification preferred.
